Two pitches on Jagodowa Street in Gliwice have received FIFA Quality certification
The FIFA Quality certificate is awarded under the FIFA Quality Programme for Football Turf, in which independent, FIFA-accredited laboratories test the surface for factors including ball bounce, shock absorption, rotational resistance, and durability in use. Obtaining this certificate means that the pitches on Jagodowa Street meet the requirements set for training and amateur facilities, in accordance with the guidelines of the world football federation.
Both pitches feature the Mars EX2 45-C2 Cork SP system, in which traditional rubber granulate infill has been replaced with cork infill. Cork, being a natural and biodegradable material, reduces the amount of microplastic released into the environment and is increasingly chosen for projects that emphasize environmental considerations.
Two full-size pitches were built in the Czechowice district, as part of a larger sports complex being constructed by the city of Gliwice. The facilities are intended primarily to serve children and young people training at Gliwice football clubs, enabling regular training sessions and matches to be held.
The FIFA Quality certificate therefore confirms two things at once: that the pitches on Jagodowa Street meet the requirements set for training facilities by the world football federation, and that this can be achieved without giving up eco-friendly solutions such as cork infill. For young footballers from Gliwice clubs, this simply means one thing: new, fully certified pitches where they will train and play for years to come.
