Reverberation and indoor noise make everyday life harder – especially rest and focus. The problem is common in spaces with many hard surfaces: offices, restaurants, receptions and hotel lobbies, as well as homes finished with glass, concrete or lacquered wood. Sound reflects off walls and ceilings, builds up in the room and creates a sense of noise even at a low volume. The most effective way to reduce reverberation is to apply sound-absorbing materials directly to wall surfaces.
Sound that bounces off hard surfaces – walls, ceiling, floor – returns to the room and stacks onto the next sounds, creating a sense of noise even at a low volume. The issue is strongest in spaces with a lot of glass, concrete or lacquered wood: offices, restaurants, receptions and hotel lobbies. Thanks to its porous, cellular structure, cork naturally absorbs part of that energy – both airborne sound (speech, music) and impact sound (footsteps, knocking). Millions of tiny air-filled cells act as natural dampers, reducing vibration before it spreads through the room.
Cork is one of the few finishing materials that combines high technical performance with care for the environment and occupant health.
Harvested without cutting the tree – the bark regrows every 9 years, supporting biodiversity and absorbing CO₂.
Verified environmental transparency of the product.
Classification B-S1, d0 (EN 13823) / Class A (ASTM E84-23d).
Suberin, a natural waxy substance, helps protect against mites, fungi and mould.
Safe for allergy sufferers, children and anyone sensitive to indoor air quality.
Undertone and Buzzer are two acoustic shapes from the Acoustic Panels collection – moulded cork panels designed to improve interior acoustics. Geometric forms play with light, shadow and depth, combining high acoustic performance with design. Their absorption was confirmed in the reverberation chamber of the University of Coimbra according to EN ISO 354 – NRC 0.70 for Undertone and 0.80 for Buzzer.

A cork acoustic panel whose rounded forms and strategically placed perforations effectively absorb sound waves.
Minichock, Peak and Infinity are three designs from the Organic Blocks collection – three-dimensional, moulded blocks made of high-quality cork, dyed in the mass. Each pattern has its own character and can be combined with the others to create unique wall compositions. The material is light, warm to the touch and fully natural, and the colour does not change over time.

Four asymmetric triangles meeting at the peak of each square – a pattern that evokes mountain summits.

A mosaic of four small squares intersecting at different angles – intimate and fine, ideal for homes and bedrooms.
Acoustic insulation reinforces a partition with acoustic materials. Its goal is to limit airborne sound passing from one room to another. Acoustic treatment modifies the interior with specialised materials and systems to improve sound quality and achieve an optimal reverberation time.
Yes. Muratto cork acoustic products are fully safe for both children and allergy sufferers. Made from natural cork oak bark, they have organic properties that support a healthy indoor climate. The product has natural antibacterial properties, making it an ecological alternative to synthetic materials.
Covering only one wall with absorbing materials is usually not enough – it will bring a noticeable improvement and reduce reverberation to some extent. Sound in a room reflects repeatedly between two parallel hard surfaces. If you treat only one wall, the wave will still bounce between the remaining planes and create unpleasant reverberation. Adding materials on the ceiling as islands, plus selected spots on the other walls, is a better approach. Contact us for an optimal specification.
Even the best acoustic insulation will not fulfil its role if improperly installed. In acoustics, precision of execution is key — minor errors or gaps can significantly reduce the effectiveness of the entire system. Therefore, it is worth entrusting acoustic insulation installation to experienced specialists. We approach each project individually, as every building differs in construction, purpose and technical conditions. On this basis, we select the optimal solution, tailored to the area, room function and expected acoustic effect. We also offer the possibility of an earlier visit to the investment site and performing simulations using test pallets. This allows precise selection of materials and technology, thereby guaranteeing the best possible end result.
