Installation of vibration isolation mats has begun on the new railway bridge in Oborniki

Yesterday, the contractor working on the new bridge crossing over the Warta River began installing vibration isolation mats, which are one of the key elements in preparing the base for the future railway track. Previously, under-ballast mats of the Eputrack UBM/SBM type with a thickness of 20 mm, along with installation tape, amounting to a total of 710.40 m², were delivered to the construction site by Epufloor.

The use of vibration insulation mats is intended to reduce the transmission of vibrations from passing trains to the bridge structure and to improve acoustic comfort in its surroundings. This is a standard solution used in modern engineering structures, which also contributes to the durability of the track surface itself.
The new crossing over the Warta River is being constructed as part of a major modernization project on railway line no. 354. The investment includes the construction of a second railway track and a new bridge, which will increase the capacity of the connection between Oborniki and Poznań. As a result, traffic flow will improve, travel times will be reduced, and the reliability of rail transport in the region will increase. The project is being implemented under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, with PORR acting as the general contractor.

The installation of the mats is preparing the bridge structure for the construction of the railway track, and the entire project is scheduled for completion in the second half of this year.
