Progress in the modernization of the track near the Planty Park - the first stage of installing Epufloor vibration isolation mats has been completed

The modernized section includes the tram track running along the Planty Park, on Straszewskiego Street (from Smoleńsk Street to Piłsudskiego Street) and Piłsudskiego Street (from Straszewskiego Street to the “Uniwersytet Jagielloński” stop). This is a key segment of Kraków’s tram transport system, located in an area of high historical and urban value, directly adjacent to the Collegium Novum of the Jagiellonian University and historic downtown buildings.
The use of vibration insulation mats is one of the key elements of the project. Modern vibration insulation solutions reduce the transmission of vibrations from the track to building structures and the ground, which is particularly important for protecting the surrounding environment, as well as ensuring the comfort of residents and users of public spaces. In the case of the Planty area, an additional factor is its high tourist and representative significance, which further increases the importance of solutions that limit noise and vibrations.
Technologies such as Epufloor Eputrack mats are especially important in projects carried out in historic areas and city centers, where infrastructure modernization must be combined with the preservation of the urban fabric.
